A chance to meet the club captain, hear two major announcements and test your very one Speedway knowledge will be the name of the game when Pirates' fans congregate for the first REF Social evening of 2020 on Wednesday 15th January.
The speedway quiz is traditionally the most popular of the winter socials and this year's event could be the best one yet, given the level of turnout witnessed by the organisers for the last two Social evenings, as Nigel Leahy explains. "Turnouts this winter have been extremely encouraging and that always helps in boosting the funds, meaning we can continue to support the Pirates which after all is the reason behind us. Actually, since relocating to the larger facilities in the glass grandstand the social nights have become more and more popular and hopefully with Wednesday night's quiz being all about the sport we love , the competition to become top team could be quite intense and we might see a record attendance.
"I would remind supporters that you do not have to necessary form a team of your own. We are more than happy to allocate Individuals or partners/friends that turn up on the evening into the ideal team size of four to six members."
2020 club captain Danny King will be making a guest appearance at the event, whilst co-promoter Danny Ford will also be in attendance and has revealed that he will be making two major announcements during the course of the evening, which commences at 7.30pm and admission is just £4 for REF Members and £5 for non-REF members.
