TOP TWO HEAD TO HEAD AT ASHFIELD

Poole could boost their chances of securing the top spot in the league table ahead of the title-deciding playoffs if they could win at Glasgow tonight, Friday 21st August (7.30pm). 

The Scottish side have two matches in hand over the Pirates with trips to Plymouth and Redcar before signing their fixtures off with a home encounter against Scunthorpe next month, whilst Poole will have just the home visit against Plymouth to come after Friday.

Holding a 20-point lead from the corresponding fixture at Wimborne Road, Poole head to Glasgow with Dan Ford claiming,

"It is far from a done deal as far a top spot is concerned but we have occupied it for some time now I really wouldn't want to lose out on it now. It is our first visit there since that never-to-forget occasion last October when we clinched the title in dramatic circumstances, so I get the feeling that they will be out to make it as difficult as possible for us. Unfortunately, we head there without Cooper (Rushen) and so we will operate rider replacement which means we will need to be clever in the way we use the rides. We have been running teams close on our recent away travels and just need to find that little bit extra on Friday."

Glasgow have a couple of guest riders covering for them, with Anders Rowe stepping in for the retired Kyle Howarth and Anze Grmek replacing the injured Mario Hausl at reserve.
