As the Pirates gear up to defend their BSN Series title, a championship they clinched in spectacular fashion last year, Tom Brennan, a fresh-faced addition to the team, brings with him not just speed but also a sense of humour that’s sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
Tom comes into this season with an average of 7.33 and steps onto the track with a weight of expectation on his shoulders, ready to weave his magic on the Wimborne Road circuit.
Last year, Tom rode for the Glasgow Tigers, his former team that made waves by beating the Pirates in the Grand Final. But for Tom, last year is old news, and he is ready to give it his all for his new team.
"Last year was last year," Tom quipped with a grin. "This is a new start for me, and hopefully we can turn it around this year."
When asked if he had approached any other clubs before signing for the Pirates, Tom’s response was pure gold. "Every club in the league," he joked, "but unfortunately, they all turned me down!" The room erupted into laughter, with fans and reporters charmed by Tom’s quick-witted response.
Fasten your seatbelt, Pirates fans! Tom Brennan has arrived, and we are sure that he is set to leave a lasting impression on the track and our fans, with maybe a dose of humour on the side.
