PIRATES PUSH CONTINUES

30/07/26

Poole will carry their unbeaten league form into a tough weekend beginning with a trip to Oxford on Friday (31st July) night.

The Pirates will have Richard Lawson back at the helm, but his racing partner William Cairns misses the fixture due to his involvement in the SGP2 title race in Poland, along with Oxford's Mitch McDiarmid. Poole have opted to go with rider replacement to cover his absence whilst Luke Harrison will guest for Fraser Bowes at reserve.

After helping Poole to their convincing 60-30 victory over Berwick both Sam Masters and Edward Kennett revert to their 2026 Oxford colours.

Concentrating on Friday, Dan Ford says:

It's one-all in terms of our visits to Cowley this year so hopefully we can make it 2-1 and keep our league form in tact. Obviously, being without Will is a bit of a blow, especially as he is in rich form himself at the moment and scored big the last time we were at Oxford. We can use Cooper [Rushen] and the two reserves under the rider replacement format so hopefully our big three heat leaders will put in a good shift."

Oxford have just one away match to come - against Poole in the middle of August - and currently languish in eighth place having ridden more meetings than all of their rivals. Pirates however could move up from third with a win, depending on how Edinburgh fare at Glasgow the same evening.

Teams:

Oxford (TM Peter Schroeck) 1 Sam Masters (Capt) 2 Luke Killeen 3 Edward Kennett 4 Anders Rowe 5 Facility for Mitch McDiarmid 6 Dayle Wood 7 Darryl Ritchings

Poole (TM Neil Middleditch) 1 Richard Lawson 2 Rider Replacement 3 Lewis Kerr 4 Cooper Rushen 5 Zach Cook (Capt) 6 Luke Harrison (Guest) 7 Kyle Newman
