PLANS ADVANCING NICELY AHEAD OF NEW SEASON

16/03/26

There is under three weeks to go now before the Pirates power into action against Plymouth Gladiators on Good Friday, and Pirates' promoter Dan Ford is hoping Poole fans are excited as he is about the new season ahead.

"I am counting down the days to our opening meeting," Ford said, "And it seems to be coming round real fast. We have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for the season. I am keen to see the new team in action. I feel we have a good blend of youth and experience, with riders able to hold their averages, but in a number of cases, significantly increase them."

"As with every season since my Dad took on the club, we are determined to lift as much silverware as possible and make the town proud of Poole Speedway. Our season ticket sales have gone well, although there is still an opportunity for anyone yet to claim one to do so."

"We have had a good response, too, to our school visits, with Dan (Gilkes), Will (Cairns) and Cooper (Rushen) getting the message out to the youngsters as to just how exciting speedway can be."

Poole's racing season officially starts on Friday April 3rd with a BSN Series group fixture against Plymouth - the two sides meeting again on the Saturday down in Devon. Prior to that the club's Press and Practice Day will be held at 5pm on Wednesday 1st April.

Poole's team for 2026 - Zach Cook (Captain); Richard Lawson, Lewi Kerr, William Cairns, Fraser Bowes, Dan Gilkes, and Cooper Rushen.
