POOLE PIRATES RETAIN DOUBLE TITLE WINNER LEWI KERR FOR 2026 SEASON

Poole Pirates are delighted to confirm that Lewi Kerr, a key figure in last season’s double triumph, has been retained for the 2026 campaign. Entering his seventeenth year in British speedway, the 35-year-old Norfolk-born rider will continue to play a pivotal role as the Pirates look to defend both their league and cup crowns.

Reflecting on his return, Kerr said: "I’m pleased to be back at Poole for 2026. I loved every minute with the club last season and finally achieved my main goal of winning the league — something I had never done before. I’ve got a lot more to offer, so I’m excited for what’s ahead."

Poole promoter Dan Ford expressed his confidence in Kerr’s continued impact: "Lewi’s a rider we firmly believe has plenty left in the tank. He returns on a low average, but we all saw what he’s capable of — especially at the end of last season when he delivered some outstanding performances. If he can maintain that level consistently, he’ll make a mockery of his average in 2026."

Kerr’s 2025 season was a model of consistency and commitment. He featured in every Pirates fixture, amassing over 440 race points and 29 bonus points, including 101 unbeaten rides from 239 starts. He will begin the new season with a 6.77 average and joins confirmed starters Richard Lawson, Will Cairns, and Fraser Bowes in the Pirates’ lineup.
