TOBIAS PLANNING FOR 2025

21/11/24

Latest Poole signing Tobias Thomsen is eagerly looking forward to his second term as a Pirate and is delighted to announce a major change to his set up and approach to the season ahead.

From his home in Denmark, Tobias told us "I can say there is a lot going on behind the scenes as we speak now. I've got some really, really good people behind me for next season, with some people helping me out with some stuff that I struggled with this season."

"Like, I will have a full time mechanic for next season. It is a guy who is coming in with a lot of experience. I had a good guy at home this season but he got sick towards the end of the season and he he couldn't do it away. Once that happened, I was struggling a bit as I was doing all the bike washing myself and all that, but for next year, I got a guy who'll do everything and he's paid for by a sponsor and I really can't say thank you enough for that."

"I know that' is going to up my game as I can focus on racing the bikes and not worrying about doing the bikes and having to fly in early. I was having to cut down on some of my sleep just to do the bikes. Now I have this guy who is very professional and going to do my bikes. I think that's the game changer for me to, to have a guy like that coming in."

"On top of that, they are going to help me out with some equipment also. They are just doing some amazing things and yeah, helping towards my personal goal for 2025. I feel that all the questions I had this year I can answer now. I know what to do at at almost every track. So, now I know what to expect I can do the bike set up, you know, spot on from heat one normally and with this experienced guy behind me to help me out with it is great."

"I have to say, It is really looking bright for 2025 and I want to hit the ground running as I want to start the season as I ended the 2024 one."
"Because I know what to do now the plan and my 100% personal goal for 2025 is to get a top spot for 2026 because I want to live one hundred percent racing my bikes so that is the goal for next season."

"I am really looking forward to seeing all you guys next year for sure. I feel some really exciting things are going to happen. We are going to up the game, just kill it from the start. We are going to scare them, so I will see you guys when 2025 comes around and my hope is that you all have happy holidays and all that. I'm going to spend time with the family and come back fully, fuelled for the 2025 season"

Tobias won over the hearts of the Poole fans with his characteristic doughnut celebrations and his no holds barred reactions. He was plucked from British Speedway obscurity ahead of the 2024 campaign and there were questions and eyebrows raised as to whether the Poole management had made the right call, but his one hundred percent effort and determination soon made him a favourite and certainly proved he has the ability to significantly raise his 4.41 average over the course of the 2025 season.
