SGB PREMIERSHIP PAIRS RESULT

BRADY KURTZ and JACK HOLDER could only muster 7 points from the SGB Premiership Pairs meeting at Somerset on Friday evening.

The Volvo Cars Poole Pirates failed to make any significant assault on the title which was won by ex-Pirate Chris Holder and his King's Lynn team-mate GB's Robert Lambert. The latter produced the ride of the night when in heat 12, the last of the qualifiers, he splendidly passed the Poole pair to complete the Stars' unbeaten string of qualifying rides.

They were drawn against pre-meeting favourites, former Somerset duo Jason Doyle and Nick Morris who were flying the Swindon colours, but whilst Doyle picked up  a run-away victory the Norfolk club pair were content to team ride for the better share of the points under the scoring system of 4-3-2-0.

That was enough to put them into the final against Wolverhampton duo Jacob Thorssell and Fredrick Lindgren after they had topped Group A and then seen off a weatlh of British titles in the shape of Rye House's Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris in their semi-final encounter.

The Wolves combo had no answers to the swiftness of Holder and Lambert in the Grand Final.
