RESULT: SGBP RIDERS CHAMPIONSHIP

Despite a promising start to the SGB Premiership League Riders' championship Poole's two representatives failed to make the final four.

Skipper Hans Andersen was a long time teader during the heats but a last place in his final qualifying ride routed him to the semi-final - contested between the third to sixth highest qualifiers, whilst Kurtz also failed to score in his fifth outing when retiring. Having posted a third ride zero, along with two second places (the first behind Andersen in heat 4) and a heat 6 race win, his total of 7 points was not sufficient to make the cut, as Josh Grajczonek and Max Fricke (9 each) and Jacob Thorssell (8 - on countback) joined Andersen in that repercharge, all vying for the right to meet direct finalists Craig Cook (13) and last season's equivalent tournament winner Freddie Lindgren.

Lindgren's Wolverhampton team-mate Thorssell booked his place in the final as he led in home rider Max Fricke who managed to see off a major challenge from Andersen during that semi-final.

So the Grand Final was a show-down between the Wolves riders and the Belle Vue representatives, a pre-cursor to Monday night's play-off semi-final. with Lindgren taking the victory from Fricke and Cook.
