PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION
Poole Speedway has made the decision not to participate in the 2025 Premiership Knockout Cup. While the invitation was both unexpected and exciting...
Adam Ellis became Poole's second ELRC representative at Coventry on Saturday night after the advanced withdrawal of Pirates' number one Chris Holder.
The inclusion of Eliis meant that Poole had both their Elite Draft riders on show with Kyle Newman missing out on a semi-final spot under countback of the 8 points he scored. It equalled that of British Champion Danny King and World U21 bronze medalist Robert Lambert as the three riders vying for the final last-chance saloon place, with King's one win and two second places trumping Lambert's one win and one second and Newman's three second places.
Adam Ellis opened the meeting with victory in heat one at the expense of eventual rostrum claimants Niels-Kristian Iversen and Chris Harris. Ellis was still amongst the top scorers when he picked up second place in a re-run heat 8 behind Edward Kennett. A third lap fall in his third outing resulted in an exclusion and he trailed a last place when up against his Pirates team-mate in heat 16 before pulling out of his final ride.
The meeting was eventually won by Wolverhampton's Freddie Lindgren ahead of Iversen and Harris with Edward Kennett the fourth finalist.
