PIRATES PIPPED TO SECOND

Glasgow Tigers, who the Pirates face in the MaxiCab Championship KO Cup semi-final second leg on September 7th, have secured top spot in the SGB Cab Direct Championship table, ahead of the title-deciding play-offs.

A home win over Scottish neighbours Edinburgh (53-37) on Friday night saw the Scottish second city side finish their campaign on 32 points, pipping the Pirates' total by one,

As second place finishers Poole will face Redcar in the play-offs, after the Bears confirmed their third place finish with an away win at Scunthorpe (also on Friday), whilst Edinburgh currently held fourth place although they could still be caught by Workington who have three meetings to complete.
