Bowes Down on Luck Down Under

Although past performances count for very little, Poole promoter Dan Ford is hoping that he will witness a Poole side establish a straight hat-trick of wins at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday night(18th July).
In their past two appearances at the North Lincolnshire venue, Poole teams have recorded 50-40 and 53-37 victories in KO cup and BSN semi final rounds, but it is league points up for grabs as they face a side that currently sits third in SGB Cab Direct Championship, seven points behind leaders Poole, although have ridden two fewer matches.
Whilst a Poole win would secure three more league points for the defending champions, Ford is under no illusion that the Scorpions will take some beating. "They have a pretty solid one-to-seven that are particularly strong on their own track and so we need to be on our 'A-game' from the very off. We can ill-afford to allow them to get away from us and the best way to counter that is to take the match to them. I have no doubts that we have the quality in our side to do just that."
Poole hold a twenty point advantage in the quest for the aggregate bonus point and have declared an unchanged line-up following their hard-earned 53-37 win against Edinburgh on Wednesday.
The Scorpions have former Poole favourite Steve Worrall at number one and with Australians Jake Allen and the Kennedy brothers (Zaine and Declan) alongside the experienced skipper Simon Lambert and the capable young British duo of Connor Mountain and Luke Harrison they have few, if any, weak spots.
