POOLE'S REPRESENTATIVES IN BIG TWO MEETINGS ARE REVEALED

20/03/25

Two of the biggest meetings in the SGB Cab Direct Championship calendar, featuring three of the 2025 Wessex Marine Pirates,  will be held prior to the Pirates officially opening their campaign.

On Saturday 5th April at Workington the SGB Pairs title will be staged with the Championship League Riders title meeting taking place at Scunthorpe on Sunday 6th April.

Announcing that Lewis Kerr and Zach Cook will get the weekend underway as Poole's pairing, promoter Dan Ford admits, “We’re really looking forward to both events, as they’ll provide valuable early-season track time for the riders involved. With Richard (Lawson) requesting to sit out the Pairs, it gives Zach a fantastic opportunity to step up and gain experience in a major event alongside Lewis, who will be making his competitive debut in Pirates colours. It’s a great pairing, and we're excited to see how they gel on the night.

"The following day, Richard will be back in action at the League Riders’ Championship in Scunthorpe, where he'll line up alongside Lewis. Both meetings will be a great way for our riders to get laps under their belts ahead of the start of our campaign, and we're confident they’ll give a good account of themselves.

"It’s also great that our northern team manager, Havvy, will be in attendance on both nights to support the boys. Having him there will be a real boost, ensuring everything runs smoothly and giving them that extra bit of guidance as they prepare for the season ahead.”

Poole's first team action of the season is scheduled for Wednesday 16th April when the Pirates travel to Oxford as part of the defence of their BSN title, before the two sides reconvene at Wimborne Road for the Good Friday (18th April), a meeting that will get underway at 6pm.
