EASTER PREVIEW
The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates face a tough opening fixture on Good Friday (6pm) when they welcome Devonshire cousins Plymouth Gladiator...
The scheduled first leg of the 2024 SGB Cab Direct Championship Knockout Cup Final to be raced at Wimborne Road tonight (16th October) has fallen victim to the British weather.
With rain forecasted for most of the day and getting much heavier throughout the course of the afternoon and through to race time, an early decision has been made, with a view to minimising travel.
Poole boss Dan Ford explained, "the weather forecasts are far from favourable and the chances of the track being even rideable is remote, and we certainly want this meeting to be the epic that it promises. So, we have taken the decision to defer the meeting until next Wednesday (23rd October) and with the early announcement hopefully any travel plans our colleagues from Oxford, and those Poole supporters who come from outside the region, may have made can be cancelled.
All advanced tickets will be valid for the new date but should anyone who has purchased a ticket require a refund then they should email info@poole-speedway.com with their details.
Poole will visit Oxford on Thursday (17th) as originally planned but this will now be the first leg.
