POOLE'S REPRESENTATIVES IN BIG TWO MEETING...
Two of the biggest meetings in the SGB Cab Direct Championship calendar, featuring three of the 2025 Wessex Marine Pirates, will be held...
The quest to reach the Grand Final of the play-offs will begin on Wednesday 11th September 2024, when the Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates host either Workington or Glasgow, in the first leg of the semi-final.
Poole have secured top spot and the prize for doing so is to race against the fourth placed side and mathematically both Workington and Glasgow could secure that place.
Current incumbents, Workington would guarantee qualification if they beat Plymouth at Northside this coming Saturday should Glasgow fail to win at Edinburgh on Friday.
Should Glasgow pull off a victory in that Scottish derby then, unless Workington lose, they would need to beat Oxford by twenty points or more when they clash on Sunday.
Poole promoter Dan Ford has confirmed that tickets are on sale for the Wednesday meeting, saying "we have the agreement of the managements of both Workington and Glasgow for them to come to us on the 11th. Whichever side it turns out to be it will be a tough fixture for us without a doubt and, as in previous seasons, we are hoping to get plenty of support to help our lads get the done. I can assure everyone that the boys are really up for going all the way this year in all three competitions. We already have secured our place in the BSN final and could do likewise with the KO Cup on Friday when we go to Scunthorpe, so it is important that we get ourselves off to a good start in the league play-offs and if we can build a decent first leg, with the encouragement of our supporters it would position us strongly."
Tickets can be purchased through the website and season ticket holders are reminded that this meeting is not included in their package.
