A hand of fate has struck young Will Cairns and ruled him out of Wednesday night's Harbour Masters Championship at Wimborne Road.
'Rocketman' Richard Lawson is preparing for take-off with his Testimonial meeting on Sunday 1st September, having revealed the nucleus of riders involved.
Lawson who tops the SGB Cab Direct Championship averages and is a currently enjoying his third term as a 'Wessex Marine' Pirate has confirmed that his event will be a competitive team challenge between the Pirates and all All Star Select, with a set of rides also at Junior level in the 250cc class.
For the meeting, for which Thermohome Ltd are the headline sponsors, Lawson will lead the 'Wessex Marine' Pirates which includes his present Poole team-mates Ben Cook, Zach Cook and Sam Hagon, together with a fellow Leicester rider, Rayn Douglas, boosted further by the inclusion of former Pirate Chris Harris. The final spot is still to be determined, but they will go in opposition to a strong looking 'Roger Warnes' All-Stars septet, headed by Sam Masters and including Troy Batchelor, Charles Wright, Anders Rowe, Josh Pickering and Lewis Kerr. The junior rides will be Cooper Rushen, Archie Rolph, Seth Norman and regular after-meeting performer at Wimborne Road, Charlie Southwick.
