PIRATES WILL BE BACK AT HOME ON WEDNESDAY

Poole promoter Dan Ford has confirmed that the Wessex Marine Pirates will be staging a SGB Cab Direct Championship play-off meeting on Wednesday 13th September with tickets now on sale.

"Irrespective of what happens at Glasgow on Friday night, I can confirm that we will be running on Wednesday but at this moment in time we cannot confirm who our opponents will be, but we definitely will have a home meeting as we have an agreement in principle with the other clubs involved in the play-offs. The fact that we don't know exactly whom we will be racing against doesn't detract from the importance of the meeting, as they are all effectively must-win meetings."

The Pirates currently sit top of the SGB Cab Direct Championship league table having fulfilled their regular programme. Only Oxford can out-point them and they visit Glasgow on Friday night where anything other than three points for the Cheetahs will give the Pirates choice of group opponents in the play-offs.
