PIRATES OFF - POOLE v EDINBURGH MEETING POSTPONED

2/08/23

For the second successive week in the holiday season the 'Wessex Marine' Pirates have been thwarted by the inclement weather and forced into an early call postponement.

Poole promoter Dan Ford said "We had heavy rain overnight and I have been down to the track to look at how things stand. If there were absolutely no more rain then there would have been a chance for the track to have dried and made it possible for us to have got a meeting on. But the forecast is far from promising and any further rainfall is just going to render the track unrideable.
"I can assure everyone that making these calls is not easy. We do not believe in wasting fans' time  and causing unnecessary journeys for the riders and so we always look at the bigger picture and as things stand the chances of us having a rain-free day are slim. It is so frustrating for everyone concerned.
"We are now working with the Edinburgh management on a rescheduling date and will communicate that once we have something in the diary,
"Once again my apologies to everyone who was looking forward to seeing a good meeting tonight."
