The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates' Knockout cup tie against Devon neighbours, Plymouth Gladiators, will now see the Pirates hosting the first leg after the two clubs have tweaked their fixture schedule, to try and accommodate competing the BSN group fixtures.
Poole were initially planned to visit the Coliseum on April 25th in the cup competition, but after their Devonshire trip in the BSN Southern group was washed out this week, this date will now be reassigned as a BSN fixture, with the cup being deferred to a new date of May 9th, which will be six days after Poole stage the home leg of the cup tie.
Confirming the fixture changes, Dan Ford said "This keeps things tidy as far as the BSN Series is concerned, as it has always been the intention to see this competition through in the opening weeks of the season. The moving of the cup date makes sense all round, although it does mean that we lose the advantage of staging the concluding leg at home, but as we will be going into every meeting looking to win by a big a margin as we possibly can then it will not affect our preparations."
