NEW DATE FOR OXFORD CLASH
The Good Friday postponed clash between Poole and Oxford has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 7th May 19:30hrs.
POOLE SPEEDWAY have appointed Anders Rowe as their replacement for the injured Jack Thomas, ahead of the 2023 campaign.
The 2019 National League Riders champion joins the Pirates, on a 5.08 starting average, after Thomas suffered serious injuries in a practice session crash at Scunthorpe recently.
Announcing Rowe's signing, Poole co-promoter Dan Ford said "It is never nice having to make team changes but when you are forced into it even before the season has taken its first breath it is even more galling and we continue to wish Jack a speedy recovery. But, we feel that in Anders we have a rider equal in ability to Jack and therefore an ideal replacement."
"To be honest, Anders has been on our radar for some time and we have been close to signing him previously. Now, circumstances have prevailed where we are able to include him and we remain confident that he will fit the mould and will be able to help us achieve our targets of successful defences of both the league and cup and make us double winners for the third consecutive season."
Rowe has previous second tier experience with Somerset, Edinburgh, Leicester, Redcar and Scunthorpe as well as having been part of the Ipswich team in the Elite league over the past two seasons and has gained valuable experience racing in Poland at U24 level.
