NEW DATE FOR OXFORD CLASH
The Good Friday postponed clash between Poole and Oxford has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 7th May 19:30hrs.
After six years, three time Elite League winner Kyle Newman is a Poole Pirate once more!
31-year old Newman, who hails from the area, returns on a 4.29 average and will initially occupy a reserve berth, with the Poole management keen to see him elevate into the main body of the team.
Poole promoter Danny Ford said was delighted to announce the return of Kyle, claiming, "When Kyle was released by us in '17 it was in the knowledge that the door had been left open for a potential return in the future and that time has now arrived. He knows what we expect of him and I am sure he can deliver on that. His scores towards the end of last season, during his time with Redcar were very encouraging and we know how good Kyle can be once he gets dialled back in at Wimborne Road and starting at reserve makes him a real trump card and I can see him pushing hard to move into our top five."
Kyle had an interrupted 2022 season when illness cost him his place at Oxford in June, he bounced back well when he joined Redcar in August and admitted that he had got his mojo back for racing, scoring paid 69 points from 46 rides.
With Steve Worrall, Richard Lawson, Ben Cook, Zach Cook, Jack Thomas and now Newman as confirmed 2023 starters the Pirates have just one more to name and 3.90 points to work with.
