World Champions Tony Rickardsson, Mark Loram and Gary Havelock plus a host of former Pirates will be on show at Poole Stadium, on Wednesday, to give support to Neil
Middleditch during his testimonial.
The trio of Champions will be available for a special autograph signing session in the glass grandstand before the meeting when gates open at 6.30pm until 7.00pm.
Middleditch is encouraging fans to bring their autograph books and programmes on a night that will resemble a ‘who’s who’ of Poole Speedway with more riders taking part in an interval ‘cavalcade’ of Middlo’s colleagues.
“We’ve pulled together a great group of riders who wore the skull and crossbones between 1974 and 1984 when I was a Pirate as well as those three World Champions who all rode for Poole whilst I have been Team Manager.
"It will be a thrill to see cherished names such as Eric Broadbelt, Martin Yeates, John Davis and Kevin Smith who are all Poole legends as well as Mike Cake, Russell Foot and Garry May who some may not realise rode for the Pirates at that time. I’m delighted that Sam Ermolenko has also agreed to come along as he rode alongside me in 1983 and 1984 and went on to win a World Title in 1993. It’s sure to be a special evening with so many famous names involved. We have some great ideas to lift the event into something memorable. There will be lucky winners in my testimonial draw where the prizes include a Race Suit belonging to Bjarne Pedersen as well as a
chance to visit the referee’s box and start a race!
"I’m really grateful to Tricket Welding for Sponsoring our ‘Firework Finale’ that should round off the show perfectly. Nigel Tricket is a long standing fan and good friend who was really keen to get involved”.
After the racing, there will be an auction of race jackets in the Champs Bar, below the main grandstand, where the after party will be in full swing. With so many famous faces and a bar extension to 11.30pm, there is plenty of opportunity to get up close to riders for autographs and
pictures.
Entry tickets to the testimonial are available in advance as well as at the turnstiles on the day. Those unable to attend can purchase the live stream from https://livestream.poole-speedway.com.
