PIRATES’ FAVOURITES RETURN FOR MIDDLO

22/07/22

FORMER PIRATES’ FAVOURITES, CHRIS AND JACK HOLDER, will make a highly anticipated return to Wimborne Road next month as they line up to take part in Neil Middleditch’s testimonial on August 31st.

The two Aussie brothers have a rich history in the skull and crossbones and are a natural choice to celebrate the Poole Team Manager’s big night.

Speaking of the pair, Middleditch said,”I’m really happy to be able to make these two the first to be announced for my testimonial. They are not just great riders but really good friends too. We go back a long way and they were only too pleased to be included.”

“Poole fans won’t need reminding of how good they are, other than to say that, Jack has gone on to be a Premiership number one and a fully-fledged SGP rider whilst Chris, who captured the World Title in 2012, is still a world class act wherever he goes.”

“It goes without saying, I’m delighted that they wanted to be part of it and I know the fans have been longing to see the ‘Holder’ name back at Wimborne Road.”

Chris was signed for the 2008 season and last donned the skull and crossbones some six years ago in 2016. A veteran of a club record 21 play-off meetings during his time as a Pirate, the 2012 World Individual Champion represented the Pirates in five of their League Championships winning seasons. Younger Brother Jack joined the ranks in 2017 and quickly established himself as a heatleader going on to enjoy a glittering career in Poland and as a number one with Sheffield Tigers in the UK Premiership.

Between the pair of them, the brothers have made almost 350 appearances for the Pirates scoring just under 3,600 points for the club.

Middleditch says more exciting names will be announced soon for what promises to be an enticing team challenge between the Meridian Lifts Heroes and The County Crest All Stars.
