'MAX'-IEJ JANOWSKI

Robins Darcy Ward, Troy Batchelor, Hans Andersen, Eduard Krcmar and Grzegorz Zengota all tried, but none of them could get the better of former Robin and Poole hero Maciej Janowski, when the Pirates met Swindon in July 2015.

That Elite league fixture signified the last of a total of ten unbeaten performances delivered for Poole by the man known affectionately as Magic, although within the record books one of those full house evenings was to 'disappear' as his second ever full maximum was expunged from league records having been attained against a Birmingham side that was to withdraw from the Elite league less than a month afterwards in 2014.

Magic's first unbeaten performance was recorded on April 14th 2014 when no member of the Coventry side, that included the afore-mentioned Andersen and Chris Harris, could lead him home. There were to be three meetings later that season in which Magic banked paid maximums, all at Wimborne Road and the third of those was also against Coventry.

In what proved to be his final season as a Pirate, the popular Pole added a full maximum to his record - the only one on opposition soil, when Magic led Poole to a 47-43 win at Leicester on May 25th, the home side led by Jason Doyle and earlier season Pirate team-mate Josh Grajczonek - and the only full maximum that season. But he rode to subsequent paid maximums on June 3rd (v King's Lynn) and then, incredibly, went unbeaten at Wimborne Road throughout the month of July as Poole met Lakeside on the 8th, Wolverhampton (22nd) and then Ward and Co on the 29th.
