Jason Crump last rode for the Pirates in 2007 but he currently holds the 21st century record for the best 'last 100 rides' points tally.
The sequence for that final one hundred rides began on Friday May 18th 2007 when the Pirates visited Lakeside, and Jason followed home Bjarne Pedersen in heat 15 to give the Pirates a match-winning 5-1 at the expense of Krzysztof Kasprzak and Adam Shields.
Over the course of his next 21 matches*, Jason took a further 99 rides culminating in the outstanding Elite league fixture against his scheduled present day club Ipswich on October 4th 2007.
Those 100 rides saw him win 66, bank 21 second places, 10 thirds, two last places and one non-finish which, with 250 points, gives him the best 'last 100 ride' statistical analysis, 8 points ahead of Tony Rickardsson's 242 points made up of 60 wins, 27 seconds, 8 thirds, 2 fourths, 3 non-finishes.
Jason's last 100 points took him just 38 rides, again bettering Rickardsson's final century for the Pirates as that took the Swede 41 rides.
[*It should be noted that after that Ipswich meeting, Jason also rode in all three legs of the Craven Shield final (run on a three-team tournament basis and consequently does not figure in official rides.]
