The Pirates recorded a 25 point home win over Leicester at Wimborne Road on 18th June 2014, beating the Lions 59-34.
It was a night that saw both Darcy Ward and Maciej Janowski go through the card unbeaten, Ward for the first time that season, Janowski claiming his second maximum of the campaign. The duo combined three 5-1s together as Poole limited the visiting Lions to just two heat advantages all evening.
The first of those gains by Leicester came in heat six as tactical substitute Jason Doyle and Krzysztof Buckzkowski 'maxed' out with an 8-1, inflicting both Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Vaclav Milik's only defeats of the evening and immediately after Nicolai Klindt and reigning U21 champion Josh Bates finished either side of Pirates' guest Edward Kennett to reduce the deficit to just six points.
Kennett's heat seven defeat was his only one of the night as his partnership with Darcy Ward proved steadfast with 5-1's notched from heat one and 10.
When the Lions visited for a second time of the season some two months later the Pirates once again ratched up 59 points to win by 59-31 which gave them their biggest home winning margin of 28 points that season (a total incidentally matched when Poole's biggest home score of 60 was achieved against Birmingham a week after the first Leicester visit, but that meeting was expunged from the records following the closure of the Brummies).
