High excitement, total effort and moments of controversy are all but guaranteed on Wednesday night when knockout speedway comes to Wimborne Road.
Poole Speedway have announced that Wednesday night's video-stream will be presented in memory of Gordon Day, the club's historian who sadly died last Thursday.
The Pirates will be streaming the second leg of the 2014 Grand Final against Coventry Bees from 7.30pm and that will be followed by the now customary reaction session hosted by Nigel Leahy. Two Poles who starred heavily in that Grand Final, Przemyslaw Pawlicki and skipper Maciej Janowski will link up via video call to share their memories with Pirates team manager Neil Middleditch under the watchful eye of Leahy.
Speaking of the event, co-promoter Dan Ford said " Gordon enjoyed the Press conferences we held and he was always keen to see them flourish. Under normal circumstances we would be have held a moments silence to reflect on Gordon's life before our home meeting, which would have been against Leicester, but with the current absence of live racing we felt that dedicating our video stream on Wednesday would be the next best thing to allow us to remember him and all the great work he did for the club."
"Our post meeting streams have proved very popular and I am sure that there will be plenty of insights to enjoy with Magic and Shamek and I am also delighted that Neil is able to join us for this one."
The two Poles rode together in a total of 30 domestic fixtures for the Pirates in 2014 and were also members of the Poole side that contested the World Speedway League, claiming the runners up to Swedish side Piraterna.
