FORMER British Champion Danny King is the latest rider to be confirmed for the Ben Fund Bonanza at Scunthorpe on Saturday March 14 (2pm).
King, who is back with Ipswich in the Premiership and has linked up with Poole to captain their new Championship era, is pleased to support the event with vital money to be raised for the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund for injured and disabled riders.
King is the fourth rider to be announced for the traditional fund-raiser with more names set to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
After finishing third in last year’s staging at Leicester, King has vowed to do all he can to win the event for the first time.
He said: “I like to be back on the bike as early in the year as possible. I always try to ride in as many open meetings or testimonials as I possibly can in order to be race sharp for when the league campaigns start - so for me it's great to be involved.
“I'm always happy to support the event - I’ve only missed a few since it started. I have benefitted from the Ben Fund in the past so I am more than happy to support them whenever I can.
“Plus as I’ve said before it's a great opportunity to blow the cobwebs away with some competitive racing from the tapes - it helps get rid of the winter rust.
“I have finished on the podium a few times now so it would be nice to get on the top step. I will certainly be doing my all to achieve that.”
A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available for any supporters or businesses looking to promote their compny - with all help greatly appreciated by everyone associated with the Fund.
Anyone interested in any sponsorship package can send an email to benfundbonanza@yahoo.com for more details.
