EASTER PREVIEW
The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates face a tough opening fixture on Good Friday (6pm) when they welcome Devonshire cousins Plymouth Gladiator...
The final two places for the Pirates 2020 campaign are close to being filled, with negotiations at an advanced stage, and Poole owner Matt Ford is hoping to be in a position to finalise the side within the 'next few days'.
One aspect to be resolved, however, is accommodation, as Ford explains "In previous seasons I would have been able to have riders staying with me when I was in the area, but now I have moved to France, to continue my other business interests, this option is no longer available to the club. Therefore, we are looking to find some suitable lodgings, preferably in the area, which could accommodate a rider. Ideally, of course, the facilities should include the opportunity for the rider(s) to maintain their bike and so if there happens to be anyone who might like to have a speedway rider lodging with them then we would be delighted to hear from them."
Offers of assistance should be made by email to info@poole-speedway.com providing a contact number to allow one of the promotion team to discuss details further.
The two places to fulfill will be joining Danny King, Steve Worrall, Adam Ellis, Stefan Nielsen and Josh MacDonald in the Pirates side that will be embarking on life in the SGB Championship for the forthcoming season.
