PIRATES LAND THIRD TOP BRIT TO LEAD THEIR CHARGE

18/12/19

Poole have completed their heat-leader spearhead with the signing of one of their former riders, a move that brings another exciting British International rider to Wimborne Road.

23 year-old Adam Ellis, who served as a Pirate in 2016, re-joins the club and  will slot into the starting line up as second in the 2020 Poole averages, boasting a 7.80 figure and Poole promoter Danny Ford believes that the experienced racer, who was born in Marmande, France, has the potential to push skipper Danny King all the way for the number one race jacket.

"With Danny, Adam and Steve (Worrall) we have a really potent top three, all have ridden for GB and each of them were their respective club's number ones in the Championship last year, and I believe that shows the intent we have as a management team in making our 2020 season as successful as in previous years. The change in division does not affect our appetite for success. Adam is a proven rider that we have huge respect for here at Poole. We selected him as one of our two Elite league Draft riders in 2016 and he went on to achieve a 5.60 average us. In the intervening seasons he has become an even better rider and has collected two league title medals with Swindon, with whom he will continue to represent in 2020 as he doubles up with them.  I can see him providing some positive competition with Danny for the number one spot and that can only be good for Poole."

Poole have now filled five of their seven places and have 8.97 points for the remaining two positions.
