PIRATES GO FOR JOSH

14/12/19

For his second season in British Speedway, Australian Josh MacDonald will follow in the footsteps of a number of his fellow compatriots and wear the world famous Poole Pirate colours.

22 year old New South Walian spent his maiden British campaign with Sheffield, but as the Steel City club switches divisions with the Pirates  Macdonald will continue in the SGB Championship with Poole.
Dan Ford has good vibes about bringing the Aussie to Poole, stating "Josh has settled into the rigours of British racing quite well and I think we will be seeing plenty of his potential with us. Here at Poole we have had a good record of seeing young Aussies develop over the years and there is no reason why Josh should not be the next one. He will start on a four point average but with a season's experience behind him,  I really feel we can benefit from that and he will be able to build on that figure. It is great that we can welcome him on board."

Macdonald is the fourth declared starter for 2020, joining British trio Danny King, Steve Worrall and Stefan Nielsen in the starting seven.
