EASTER PREVIEW
The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates face a tough opening fixture on Good Friday (6pm) when they welcome Devonshire cousins Plymouth Gladiator...
Matt Ford has confirmed that he and King's Lynn boss Keith Chapman are still exploring opportunities for the staging of the outstanding Premiership Supporters' Cup group fixture but fears that time is against them on finding a suitable date.
The Poole boss admitted "After we lost the fixture last week we had looked to reschedule it for next Wednesday (23rd) but that clashes with the Global Challenge Test Match. King's Lynn are already without three riders as Robert Lambert, Michael Palm-Toft and Thomas Jorgensen are all out through injury, have a fourth rider (Niklas Porsing) withholding services and now Lewis Kerr and Craig Cook have both been called up for that Test Match.
"With the inclement weather forecasts it was not possible for us to try and squeeze it in this week and coupled with stadium availability, and I must admit our landlords have been most co-operative with us in this matter as they always are, we are facing the real risk that we will have to forfeit the meeting, something that would incur financial penalties for the club.
"Should it come to that however, and I would urge fans to continue to monitor the situation via our website, then we would look to compensate current season ticket holders with a rebate offer in next year's prices."
