PENALTY SHOOT OUT DECIDES SCHOOL'S WINNER

18/07/18

Broadstone Middle School claimed a dramatic victory in the inaugural Trethowans Solicitors-sponsored Poole Speedway Soccer Trophy final at Wimborne Road.

Broadstone lifted the trophy after winning 4-2 on penalties against Heatherlands, with the sides deadlocked at 1-1 after 40 minutes of highly-entertaining action in front of a healthy crowd.

Pirates promoter Matt Ford said: “It was a great game and I really couldn’t pick a winner between two evenly-matched sides.

“Congratulations to both Broadstone and Heatherlands for their performances in the final - they were both superb.

“The competition has been a great success and there will be more schools entering next year.

“I’d like to thank all the schools who entered this season’s tournament and my thanks, also, to Trethowans Solicitors for making the competition possible.”
