Football will return to Poole Stadium tomorrow when Poole Speedway hosts the first round of matches in a special Poole schools tournament.
Volvo Cars Poole Pirates promoter Matt Ford is putting on the tournament between eight teams over the next six weeks, with Longfleet taking on Bishop Aldhelms in the first quarter-final tomorrow before the Pirates lock horns with Rye House in the SGB Premiership.
The 30-minute seven-a-side matches will kick-off at 6.45pm each week prior to the evening's racing, with the eventual winners receiving a Pirates-sponsored kit, as well as medals and a trophy.
Ford said: "Having football back in the stadium is very special and combining it with the speedway is even better.
"It will be great for the kids playing to experience the speedway once their matches have finished and the football itself promises to be superb entertainment – I know how competitive these kids can be!
"I'd like to thank the seven teams we have booked in to take part in the tournament, which promises to be superb, added entertainment for those coming to watch the Pirates race later in the evening.
"We do have space for one more team so any middle schools in the Poole area who wish to join the tournament should please contact me.
I would urge everyone to get down and support the school teams and enjoy some great football before the bikes start up."
Any schools wishing to take up the eighth and final spot in the tournament should contact the club via email on piratestrackshop@gmail.com
