KURTZ SUFFERS RIB INJURIES IN POLAND

9/07/17

The return of number one Krzysztof Kasprzak for Poole's forthcoming SGB Premiership fixture on Wednesday (12th July)  could be overshadowed by the potential loss of inspirational Brady Kurtz, after the Australian suffered a track crash in Poland on Sunday (9th July)

Riding for his Polish club Pila, Kurtz was the innocent victim of a 'wipe-out' when team-mate Tomasz Gapinski lifted in the opening heat, leaving the Aussie youngster with rib injuries.

Poole boss Matt Ford commented "This is not good news for Brady. We are uncertain at this moment time as to how long this will rule Brady out and we will be monitoring the situation closely. It seems that we are undergoing something of an injury jinx right now, Brady joining our Danish boys Hans Andersen and Nicolai Klindt with knocks.

"Whilst we are very much looking forward to welcoming Krzysztof back for Wednesday's fixture against King's Lynn we will certainly miss Brady's scoring potential in what promises to be a tough meeting against the Stars.

Klindt is nursing a torn meniscus and  anterior cruciate ligament, a partially torn medial cruciate ligament and has cartilage damage to his tibia, but has vowed to ride through the pain barrier, whilst Andersen suffered a neck  injury during Poole's last meeting which left him with limited movement in the neck throughout the meeting. The Poole captain returned to racing with his Polish side Orzel Lodz, on Sunday, scoring 8+3 in their 45-all draw against Daugavpils.

The visit of King's Lynn signals a racing return to Wimborne Road for past Pirate Chris Holder who, due to his starting average of 12.53 failed to secure a place in the Poole side at the start of the campaign. The 2012 world champion has seen his average slide to under 7 points after an indifferent start to the season, but he will be assured of a warm reception and the battles against his younger brother Jack will be keenly awaited.
