PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION
Poole Speedway has made the decision not to participate in the 2025 Premiership Knockout Cup. While the invitation was both unexpected and exciting...
Poole's Australian duo Jack Holder and Brady Kurtz have failed to make inclusion in Mark Lemon's final five for the Speedway World Cup.
Former Pirate Lemon has opted for his more experienced riders of Chris Holder, Jason Doyle and Troy Batchelor with the in-form Nick Morris completing the quartet. World U21 champion Max Fricke being the chosen mandatory U21 nomination at number 5.
With the Australians having been drawn in Event One at King's Lynn this coming Saturday (July 1st) the inclusion of Stars' riders Holder and Batchelor was no surprise, whilst Doyle currently leads the SGP world championship, despite carrying a foot injury. Whilst Morris is very much enjoying a good season this year he did suffer a nasty crash at the weekend and undoubtedly his position will be subject to fitness.
Holder and Kurtz both line-up tonight for the VOLVO CARS POOLE PIRATES against Lemon's SGB Premiership club Belle Vue in the first live BT Sports SGB Premiership broadcast.
