JAMES SHANES has booked his place in the British U21 Final meeting which Poole Speedway host on Wednesday 26th April after winning the semi-final at Peterborough.
The Poole-born youngster, who is the reigning European Grasstrack Champion, won the semi-final event having levelled on 12 points with Zach Wajtknecht and Connor Mountain.
Shanes won three of his five rides having runa second place to Jack Smith in the opening heat. Victory went his way in heat 7 courtesy of a terrifc turn of speed to charge to the front. His efforts in heat 11 though to try and pass Nathan Stoneman were in vain, but he completed his night with back to back wins.
Qualifiers: J.SHANES 12, Z.Wajtknecht 12 C.Mountain 12 D Phillips 11 J Smith 10 E Perks 9 N Greaves 9 D Hume 9 N Stoneman 8 L Harris 7
These will join the six seeds for the Final - Robert Lambert, Adam Ellis, Josh Bates, Liam Carr, Max Clegg and Dan Bewley
