KYLE NEWMAN will miss the VOLVO CARS POOLE PIRATES opening team fixture of the season.
After suffering a heat 2 fall in the Darcy Ward Invitational Meeting Newman declared that the initial fears he had aggravated a previous shoulder injury were unfounded and that he was targetting a return to the saddle for Monday's trip to Wolverhampton, after pulling out of the Ipswich v Sheffield SGB Championship meeting on Saturday night.
But today he reported in to club owner Matt Ford advising "although it's (the shoulder) is getting better I just have not got the strength and it won't be worth the risk on Monday. I am going to try and double up on physio tomorrow as I really want to be ready for Wednesday night."
The absence of Newman will mean that rider replacement comes into force for the Volvo Cars Poole Pirates and with Newman fifth in the rankings for the Dorset club it means his rides will need to be covererd by Jack Holder, former Wolves rider Nicolai Klindt and James Shanes..
Their hosts will also be utitlising rider replacement as ex-Pirate Adam Skornicki has also failed in his bid to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in the Peter Karlsson Farewell meeting. Skornicki's coverage will come from Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth, Max Clegg and Nathan Greaves.
