PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION
Poole Speedway has made the decision not to participate in the 2025 Premiership Knockout Cup. While the invitation was both unexpected and exciting...
Past three-times winner Max Fricke regained the Australian U21 title at Kurri Kurri on Saturday, defeating defending champion Jack Holder in the final.
Fricke who had made a hat-trick of wins between 2013 and 2015 had lost out to Holder and Brady Kurtz last season but he was in rampant form this time around.
Those three riders all met in heat 17 with the two 2017 Pirates both falling at the first attempt to stage it. In the re-run Kurtz, with 11 points to his name from his previous four rides, was forced to retire within the opening lap with pain in his hip, and was duly unable to take his place in the B final which could have seen him still in with a shout of claiming the title.
Holder, who had been beaten in that heat 17 race by Fricke couldn't gain revenge in the final and had to hand the crown back to Fricke.
