PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION
Poole Speedway has made the decision not to participate in the 2025 Premiership Knockout Cup. While the invitation was both unexpected and exciting...
Poole's promising young Australian Brady Kurtz has been ruled out of this evening's trip to Coventry (7.30pm) after being struck down with a flu bug.
The Pirates claimed a resounding 60:29 win over the Bees when the two sides met on Wednesday night and they go in to the return encounter now missing both Chris Holder and Kurtz.
Holder is on duty in Poland and the Pirates have booked the services of Freddie Lindgren as cover whilst rider replacement will come into play for Kurtz''s rides.
Despite the huge margin of win on Wednesday and the fact that the Pirates have already won at Coventry this season Poole boss Matt Ford is under no illusions about the task facing his charges tonight/ "Our lads were superb on Wednesday. They didn't allow a tough start to the meeting distract them in any way and they really turned things around. Whilst that was great it could well inspire the Bees to go for sweet revenge tonight. We just need to remain focussed and ride like our riders can ride. It is that much harder with rider replacement - as Coventry experienced on Wednesday - if you have a rider experiencing a rider replacement, but all I can ask is that the team go there and do their best."
The Pirates already have a change of opponents this coming Wednesday when instead of travelling to Belle Vue they will now race at King's Lynn and dialogue is currently on-going too to change the date of the Pirates visit to Leicester on May 7th, which clashes both with the GP qualification rides and a Leicester City FC televised meeting.
