PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION

Bjarne Pedersen has been forced to withdraw from the Play-off semi-final second leg at Wolverhampton this evening after sustaining a twisted knee.
Pedersen, a solid paid 8 scorer when the Pirates were last at Monmore Green earlier this month was competing on Sunday in the Magnus Zetterstrom Farewell meeting in Sweden when he was involved in a crash with Mikkel Michelson. Despite having scored 10 points, Pedersen was forced to concede his place in the grand final, which his Pirates' team-mate Antonio Lindback went on to win.
Poole have called upon the services of Swindon and Somerset's Rohan Tungate to cover for Pedersen as they seek to defend the 12 point advantage they have built from the opening leg. An aggregate victory over the Wolves would put Poole in their 7th consecutive play-off final and keep them on course for a fourth successive Elite league championhip.
