PIRATES DECLINE PREMIERSHIP KO CUP INVITATION
Poole Speedway has made the decision not to participate in the 2025 Premiership Knockout Cup. While the invitation was both unexpected and exciting...
Adam Ellis' hopes of a world U21 championship medal have eroded after he managed just five points in the second round of the series, in Pardubice on Friday night.
His points tally matched that of his first round performance and with just one round remaining - Gdansk, Poland on October 2nd - Ellis sits in 13th place, 19 points behind 3rd placed Krystian Pieszczek who won the opening round.
Whilst that is too considerable a gap to reduce for the ReadyPower Pirate, who reverts back to reserve for the play-offs, club asset Jack Holder is well positioned for an assault on the title following his fourth place finish in the Czech Republic. Holder is currently tied on 25 points with the second round winner Dimitri Berge, both trailing joint leaders Max Fricke and Robert Lambert who are on 30 points a piece.
Standings after 2 rounds: M.Fricke (AUS) 30, R.Lambert (GBR) 30, K.Pieszczek (POL) 29, J.Holder (AUS) 25, D.Berge (FRA) 25, P.Hansen (DEN) 20, P.Przedpelski (POL) 17, J.Bates (GBR) 17, E.Riss (DEU) 16, B.Smektala (POL) 13, E.Krcmar (CZE) 12, V.Kulakov (RUS) 12, A.Ellis (GBR) 10, J.Andersson (SWE) 10, MB.Andersen (DEN) 8.
