PREVIEWING: BELLE VUE v POOLE - MONDAY 25TH JUNE

24/06/18

'Volvo Cars' Poole Pirates' skipper Josh Grajczonek will be keen to avoid 'lightning striking twice' when he takes on a former club on Monday night as the Pirates travel to Belle Vue.

Last Wednesday, the 28 year old Queenslander, struggled at his former base Somerset scoring just 3 points and having had three spells as an Ace will be anxious to weigh-in with a performance more in keeping with the paid 11 he registered when the Pirates were last in Manchester, his best Premiership return this season of the campaign to-date.

Pirates' team manager Neil Middleditch is backing Grajczonek to work his way back to his best form and whilst Middlo would dearly love to see his team collect a valuable win to help them charge back up the table, he wouldn't be too disappointed if they came away with a similar outcome as to their visit in April.

Poole went down by four on that occasion (43-47) but both sides will have a different look about them this time around. Peter Kildemand (10) has been replaced by Aces' asset Richie Worrall and Nicolai Klindt has linked up again with the Dorset side and effectively replaces James Shanes from that earlier visit, although will assume his place in the main body of the side.

The home side have recently snapped up a finalist from the British Final, hosted at the National Speedway Stadium a fortnight ago, Jason Garrity. The Mancunian has been added to the Aces side as cover for Worrall's twin brother Steve who, despite attempting a comeback during that British Championship meeting, is still in recovery from a broken leg sustained in the early weeks of the season, whilst both Jye Etheridge and Damian Drozdz, the current Aces reserves, missed the April encounter.

Belle Vue's exciting young Englishman Dan Bewley, runner-up in the British Final.  will be fresh from his immaculate performance in the semi-final of the European U21 championship when he stormed to a 15-point maximum in Plzen, Czech Republic and along with internationals Craig Cook (GB) and Max Fricke (Australia) gives the Aces a potent look about them.
