MX Motorcycle devotee, Michael Brueford, and the Darcy Ward Foundation (DWF) are launching an appeal to anyone whose bucket list might include a parachute jump to come and be part of an adrenaline charged fundraiser in September.
The DIVE4DARCY tandem skydive appeal is aiming to assemble a group of 43 friends around the world to raise sponsorship in aid of the Foundation in an event managed by leading charity jump centre, Skydive Buzz in Devon.
Michael was moved to raise money for the DWF after becoming friends with Darcy and Chris Holder at an MX event in Belgium and having followed their progress in speedway ever since.
The DIVE4DARCY event will be centred in Devon, but is open to anyone across the globe to join in on the same day, wherever they can. Already, Darcy’s partner Lizzie has shown an interest in joining the jump back home in Australia.
The cost of the jump can be covered by a minimum sponsorship of £395 (GBP) which includes a donation of £145 (GBP) to the fund.
Skydive Buzz have kindly agreed to host the event management for Devon participants, and those interested in learning more can visit their website to see details under the charity section and in the name of The Darcy Ward Foundation.
Sponsorship forms are available from the site and they are taking sign-ups now with just a £50 deposit.
All those taking part will receive a free, specially designed, “I Dived for Darcy” DW#43 t-shirt and the DWF are hoping to announce further ideas to enhance the event in due course.
