Poole boss Matt Ford has indicated that he is on the verge of revealing his final two heat leaders within the next week.
As the club goes in search of a fourth consecutive Elite league crown Ford has offered an apology to the fans for the delay in declaring his chosen one to seven
"Ordinarily I would have hoped to have confirmed our final two selections from the heat leader list - which was agreed by all Elite league promoters at our conference meetings -by now but with other matters, not least the sad passing of Pete Ansell, having taken our focus and attention we temporarily put on ice our team building.
"However, I am due to leave the UK for an extended break shortly and it is my absolute intention to reveal the full one to seven before I depart and so I would expect to be making an announcement very shortly.
"I would re-iterate that 'Buzz' (Krzysztof Buczkowski) did not meet the criteria defined to be included on the list of heat leaders unlike Hans (Andersen) and the two remaining riders.
"I would also like to thank the number of people who expressed an interest in becoming one of our mascots and I can assure all applicants that upon my return early in the New Year we will be making contact with those applicants. We will be having two mascots at each meeting and with holidays etc I can see us having opportunities for most if not all of those who have shown an interest.
"I can further announce that the vacation position of programme editor has now been filled and once again I would like to thank everyone who declared an interest."
