FORD BOOKS BUCZKOWSKI

12/11/15

A shrewd move by Poole boss Matt Ford sees Peterborough asset Krzyzstof Buczkowski join the Pirates for 2016 on a loan arrangement.

The 29 year old Pole will slot into the Pirates seven on what Ford believes is a bargain 6.48 average attained for the 2014 campaign when he last rode in the UK then for Leicester.

Of his latest acquisition Ford said "I am happy to have him on board for next season. He has a style I like and whilst he loves to be racing on a large fast track he also has a great technique for the smaller circuits and it is those sort of riders that can make a great deal of difference to a team's fortunes. I really believe that he will develop into an out and out heat leader which will give us that bit of extra depth to the side and I am sure the Poole fans will quickly make him feel very much at home. He is a rider who I have been interested in for a while and with the rules on heat leader criteria having been ironed out during Conference I felt that now was the time to make the move for him as in my mind he ticks all the boxes."

Buczkowski's arrival coincides with the news that club captain Maciej Janowski will not be returning in 2016, at least for the start of the season. Ford said "Magic won't be back with us a starter next year as he has decided to give the UK a break as a trial. He felt that competing in three domestic leagues and the GPs was a commitment too far and as he wanted to give Sweden a go again in 2016. However he has told me that he would be happy for us to call on him should the need arise as the season ahead develops and I think I can categorically say that it is an 'au revoir' moment rather than goodbye. He remains very much on my 'wanted' list and I have every intention to have him back in the future.

Buczkowski joins Hans Andersen, Kyle Newman and Adam Ellis as confirmed 2016 Pirates and Ford believes he should very soon be able to release details of rider number five.
