PREVIEW: PIRATES HEAD TO DEVON LOOKING FOR POINTS

Marty McFly may have waited a full 30 years before going Back to the Future but Poole boss Matt Ford has left it just 7 years by declaring the re-introduction of Danish star Hans Andersen to the Pirates' side.
Andersen, 34, is a big fan of the 1980's Sci-fi blockbuster Back to the Future which celebrates its 30th anniversary on the very day that his return to Poole has been announced.
He was last a Pirate in 2009, some 7 years after finishing a two-year term as raw British recruit with Poole.
The Dane will rejoin the Pirates on a 6.45 average, a figure that Poole promoter Matt Ford believes is a 'bargain' "Hans is an absolute steal on the figure as he has been one of the top speedway riders in Britain over the last decade. I would encourage fans to look beyond the bargain 6.45 he comes back to us on as he had some issues last season which certainly impacted his progress early on. He is by far a much better rider than that figure suggests. In the two years prior to last year he returned figures of 8.33 and 8.34 ."
"I firmly believe that we will be able to bring the best of out of him once again and he will soon be battling out there as one of the top of performers in Britain.
Andersen returns to the Dorset club with a 2 year contract option that will earn him a Testimonial campaign in 2017, something that Ford considers an important aspect. "I see that very much as developing a level of commitment to working together to make this move work for both our club and for Hans. He will be a vital cog in our side for 2016 and I consider that there is room for genuine growth with Hans. He will be leading from the front as a potent point scoring machine just as he did when he came back to us in June 2009 and went on to knock up over 200 race points in just 20 appearances."
Andersen becomes the first recruit for the 2016 and is the first Danish to be a Pirate regular since Poole fielded Leon Madsen and the legendary Bjarne Pedersen in 2010.
