MAGIC VOWS TO FIGHT ON

4/10/14

Maciej Janowski has vowed to fight on for the Pirates despite suffering an arm injury that required 9 stitches and looked set to rule him out of the Pirates' second leg semi-final play-off meeting against King's Lynn on Monday (7.30pm).

Poole boss Matt Ford explained that "Magic contacted me on Saturday to report that he was suffering with his arm which he damaged whilst doing some Moto-cross and felt that he couldn't ride for us on Monday. I said to him at the time that it was a massive blow to us as we were already without Darcy, Josh and Vaclav but it looked certain that, the way he was feeling, that he wouldn't be up to the task and so I booked Dave Watt as cover. But today (Sunday) I received a call from a much brighter sounding Magic telling me that he was beginning to feel better and that he really wanted to do his bit for the club and to count him in for the meeting.

"He said he would never want to let the club down and with the arm improving he could see no reason why he would have to sit it out after all and I have always claimed that I would prefer to have my own riders riding for the club, riders that the fans can feel some allegiance to and so we are delighted to have him in the side.

"It has been quite a build up to this meeting and without a doubt I am sure there will be more twists and turns before we learn which two sides will contest next week's play-off final. I am really hoping that our fans can get behind the team on Monday and play an important role for us like they have done on so many occasions in the past. It's one reason why I like to have the second leg as the home leg.
