RESULT: FIM SGP POLAND

Maciej Janowski gained a bronze medal in the FST Grupa Brokerska Torun FIM Speedway Grand Prix Of Poland on the night that Tai Woffinden was proclaimed the 2015 World Champion.

And both Janowski and Chris Holder appear to have strengthened their respective holds on a top 8 placing which will provide them with the automatic right to contest the 2016 series.

Holder was eliminated at the semi-final hurdle, finishing third behind fellow Australian Jason Doyle - reaching his first ever Grand Prix final four - and Janowski in the very race that mathematically confirmed Woffinden as the 2015 world champion.

Defending champion Hancock's last place in that semi-final meant he no longer could overtake Woffinden's 151 championship points, the Scunthorpe-born champion elect having added just 8 points to his tally during the night.

The Torun GP produced some excellent racing throughout the pick of the bunch arguably being the battle between Doyle and Janowski when they met in heat 9. With Chris Holder leading that race the Leicester and Poole captains exchanged positions freely throughout, the Australian just getting the verdict as he went on to top the qualifiers jointly with Nicki Pedersen.

It was the Dane who eventually struck gold in Torun and now the focus for Melbourne in three weeks will be whether or not he can overcome Hancock for second place in the series.
