JOSH INJURED IN PLRC

Poole have suffered a further blow ahead of the championship deciding play-offs, which begin on Monday week, with Josh Grajczonek sustaining a suspected broken collar-bone during the latter stages of the Premier League Riders' championship on Sunday evening.

Representing Workington in the second tier's major individual event at Sheffield, Grajczonek was involved in a heat 16 incident that resulted in his subsequent withdrawal from the meeting due to the collarbone injury. He had scored just 5 points from his four completed rides.

His Poole team-mate, Kyle Newman scored 7 points from his 5 rides finishing 8th place overall in a meeting won by Simon Stead.

The injury news comes just as Poole were hoping to be back to near full-strength with Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Vaclav Milik expected back from their recent lay-offs, Pawlicki with a collarbone injury himself and Milik a hand problem.

The Pirates will learn on Monday whether they will have finished top of the league or in second place. King's Lynn, the team that can overhaul them in the table, travel to Belle Vue for their final league match of the campaign and if they fail to claim at least 2 league points then the Pirates will remain top. That will earn them the right to choose their semi-final play-off opponents of either King's Lynn, Coventry or Swindon.
